I hope we get to meet someday in person, as so far we have only been ”phone-buddies”. Very thought provoking article. Wow, I had no idea there was so much backstabbing in Magic.

Yep. Magic is a very competitive landscape - so I think it invites a lot of backstabbing. In positive news though, I'd be honoured to meet you in person too.

Be aware that some magicians got ripped off from their ideas. The cheap knockoffs on Losander's tables are an example. And he produced the idea and someone takes away the business and makes a cheap inferior product. It's hard to sue overseas especially asian countries.

Geraint, sad to hear that some folk are not quite up to snuff in moral character. Too bad you don't go to conventions. I'm looking forward to the IBM National Convention mid July in Pittsburgh, PA. I'm really looking forward to our annual Winter Carnival of Magic in Pigeon Forge, TN March 9-11, 2023. I'm spoiled with that convention as it is hosted by Ring 58, the Order of Smoky Mountain Mystics. Our headliner is Artem Shchukin, awardwinner at the IBM National last year along with FISM. There's still time to register. Go to ibmring58.com and look for convention. We'd love to have you and you might actually enjoy our convention. There are things about it that might make you fall in love with the traditions wwe've created. Besides, we are close to Gatlinburg, TN and their famous moonshine! Another magic all in itself! Come visit, y'all, and stay a while!

^ Sounds fantastic. It's a bit far from me. But hopefully others will read your comment and attend :)

A lot of our performers are from Las Vegas and fly in. There is a Friday night party from a special host and you can see his collection of magic and other items, along with Al Capone's bar. Saturday night after the show, there is a pizza party for all convention attendees. Fly in and jam with some world class magicians.

Charlotte, I think it is one of the best-kept secrets of the South! There are extra perks that are not advertised that make it special. Plus, the attendees that come year after year are treated like family.

Thank you Bill! Yes, I’ve never been treated better. I would like to try and perform at the 2025 convention. I don’t have time at all this year as I am getting my video website constructed and launched. Or I will be posting videos of all of my magic work. New work.

Geraint, Good Morning from Chris in fabulous Los Angeles. I would like to partner with you and Ellusionist. I went forward with the link that leads to Shopify, but found it to be clunky and inexact. So, let me see if we may create a workaround. I'm launching an e book about Love & Magic which teaches men a step by step approach for utilizing the Art of Illusion to create Attraction with women. Currently, there is nothing like it on the market. My marketing involves partnering with various attractive Instagram models who enjoy a major follower base and giving them a personal affiliate link. The book sells for $22, and each copy purchased via an affiliate will earn $10 for the participant. Many of the participants have a 250 K to 1M follower base. So, an Influencer with 1M followers could sell the e book to only 2% of her followers and earn $200,000. Obviously, many Influencers find the partnership attractive. And each of the model influencers appear in my book answering an interview question.

Here's where our partnership could be mutually beneficial - I'd like to add a link to Ellusionist and create an affiliate partnership. Since it is an e book, the reader may go directly to your site and begin the purchase process. And since the book is filled with practical tips on how to use The Art of Illusion to Acquire The Magic of Love with photos and links to killer Instagram models, I would imagine that Ellusionist will receive a healthy level of click throughs.

Geraint, I'd love to tell you more and partner with you, as I've thouroughly enjoyed my Ellusionist purchases and would definitely recommend you to my readers. So, please feel free to e mail me at chris_broms411@yahoo.com and I'll send some of the early graphics and other info. Thanks !

I keep this email on my phone so I can read this again and again. My experiences in magic is long a varied. I fell in and out of magic a number of times always feeling I could not contribute because I was not a professional...like others. Over the years I found my voice...and while not a professional believe I can voice opinion. While I don't always buy a lot from Ellusionist...I have never felt that they were anything else than professionals...heading in directions and creating and challenging others to follow. Everything said in this piece resonates exactly as I believe. So keep up the great work...continue to challenge old outdated ideas and stay the course. I am 70 and will support free thinkers until I die...Peter in Australia.

Brother,

The moment I stepped into the magic “spotlight” the visceral hatred, the death threats and the spoken harm of my disabled son (only 6 yrs old at the time) came at me like a swarm of evil locusts descending on Egypt. There was a concentrated campaign by kranzo Jones and others to GET ME OUT OF MAGIC. I was just a kid myself (23 yrs old) trying to figure it all out. I was newly married and studying to be a pastor. The NIGHTMARE I went through almost killed me. The LIES AND MALICIOUS RUMORS that were spread about me was beyond bearable. I lost my wife my kids and my home because of them. They Destroyed, DESTROYED MY FUCKING LIFE! I have worked so damn hard to build ANYTHING that resembles a SO CALLED LIFE now. The damage they all did is of the highest level of EVIL. Thank you for writing this.
